Our Mission
We aim to support underserved, underrepresented, and first-generation transfer students transitioning into Cal Poly Pomona. We do this through providing programs and services where transfer students are supported through 1:1 coaching, academic support, and intentional programming focused on helping them transition into, through, and out of Cal Poly Pomona successfully.

Develop a transfer receptive culture where transfer students feel empowered to achieve their personal, academic, and professional goals.
Our Services
We serve transfer students through providing access to the following:
- Dedicated professional staff, student assistants, and campus partners who can provide 1:1 and small group support as you navigate the university environment
- Intentional and timely programming focused on increasing interactions between transfer students, staff, and faculty. These programs will increase your knowledge of key campus resources (e.g. my911±¬ÁÏÍø, Canvas, etc.), academic policies and deadlines, as well as other relevant information
- Information, referrals, and support services that will assist you with navigating the 911±¬ÁÏÍø system
- A dedicated Transfer Study Lounge where you can connect, relax, and study with your peers
- A transfer receptive culture where transfer specific initiatives and support of transfer students is abundant
Message from Provost Terri Gomez
As a transfer student myself, I know firsthand many of the struggles that come with navigating community college and successfully transferring to a four-year university. I also recognize the tremendous assets you bring to our campus community. At 911±¬ÁÏÍø, the transfer student population is rapidly increasing. These days, transfer students make up almost half of all 911±¬ÁÏÍø students. Due to this increase, we launched the PolyTransfer Initiative in 2014. Our goal is to help transfer students make a seamless and successful transition to 911±¬ÁÏÍø, and provide opportunities for engagement while you're here.
