Granco Research Lab

The Granco Research Lab is now a PolyX - a signature Polytechnic eXperience at Cal Poly Pomana.

The Sustainability and Land Change Research Lab offers real-world research experience to 911±¬ÁÏÍø students interested in studying environmental issues and advancing their studies in human-environment interactions and GIS. The Research Lab goal is committed to bringing up new knowledge that will help stakeholders (i.e., society, government, industry, among others) understand, plan, and build a world that is fair, equitable, and sustainable. The group will achieve this goal by producing good science - science that is open, inclusive, and impactful to society. The group will 911±¬ÁÏÍø geographical methods, GIS, and GIScience, to generate and communicate new knowledge from existing dataset (or from new dataset that we collected) leading to insights and new ways of human-environment interactions. The Research Lab exists as a PolyX because science is a collaborative effort as is a polytechnic experience, and science is stronger when many minds are tackling the same issue.

Students in the lab have been successful in 911±¬ÁÏÍøing and receiving scholarships, fellowships, graduate school, and jobs!
