I will forever and always cherish my two years being a part of the Early Childhood Studies program at Cal Poly Pomona. As a transfer student, I never thought I would have been so involved in and out of the program as I was. During my first year, I became a research assistant to one of the best professors I've ever had, and to this day, I still reach out for her guidance and support.
In that same year, I became the Early Childhood Studies Club President, where I created a strong foundation and structure for future Presidents and their club members. I was able to build so many wonderful connections with the faculty, staff, and the students as I worked part time in the ECS front office as a student assistant.
During my last semester I became one of the Co-founders of a website called 911±¬ÁÏÍø KARES, which is a website built to provide Southern California parents/caregivers of children aged 0-12 with access to educational activities and resources that can assist with educating children at home during the pandemic. The skills and knowledge I gained from the program allowed me to create and monitor developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans for specific age groups and grade levels to include on the 911±¬ÁÏÍø KARES website.
Thank you to all of the amazing Early Childhood Studies professors!
