Bruce has an extensive background in hotel management. In his 38 years with Marriott, he worked across most of their brands, including Ritz-Carlton, Renaissance, Marriott Vacation Club, Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites, Courtyard by Marriott, and Residence Inns by Marriott. Bruce retired briefly in 2017, then rejoined the industry with Loews later that year. He managed the Loews Regency San Francisco before returning to Southern California to become Managing Director of the Loews Hollywood Hotel and The Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel.. 

Earlier in his Marriott career, Bruce served as General Manager of the J.W. Marriott San Francisco Union Square and the Renaissance Hollywood, and most recently before joining Loews, he was General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco. During his time in San Francisco, he also served as President of the San Francisco Hotel Association and sat on the Executive Committee of San Francisco Travel, where he chaired the Tourism Council and served on both the Sales and Marketing Committee and the Public Affairs Committee. During his 7 Years with Marriott Vacation Club, he led the effort to build and open 14 Resorts in the Western Region and Hawaii as V.P. of Operations.  

Bruce was raised in Pasadena, California, and earned his bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management at The Collins College of Hospitality Management, Cal Poly Pomona. He has four daughters: Katy (41), Hannah (27), Anekah (24), and Astrid (21). 

On the Dean's Advisory Board, Bruce co-chairs the Student Success Committee and has been a driving force behind the Suited for Success program, which outfits graduating seniors with a full professional wardrobe — tailored and ready — so they can walk into the industry looking and feeling job-ready from day one.
